Yes she was incredibly lucky and survived, it was a very close call and at one point she did stop breathing altogether whilst being treated by the vets for heatstroke, without your help getting her to the car she probably wouldn't of pulled through, so again huge thank you for your help.

Glad it all worked out OK in the end.

Not a question but a huge thank to the very kind volunteer ranger who came to open a gate for us yesterday 16/04/2015 after my dog unexpectedly collapsed whilst walking her & for helping get her back to the car so we could take her straight to the vets. Huge thank you.
I have passed your thanks on, it was me you talked to and am glad that you got your dog out ok, was he/she ok in the end?
Could I ask you - if we were to walk the route No.6 leaving a car at the Well street end, I am assuming that we would need to walk the route twice (getting to one end and back)? What is the length (one way) of the route No. 6 ? Is it well sign posted and can we go any time of the year ?
Thank you very much,
The Ranger Replies
Footpath 6 in Burghclere runs east from Well Street for about 100 metres and then south for another 500 metres or so. It ends at The Oxdrove. All routes are currently somewhat wet and muddy under foot and FP6 is no exeption. Stout footwear is recommended. There are plenty of other Rights of Way in the area which you can link up with FP6, perhaps to create a circular walk. If you visit www.hants.gov.uk/row you will be able to use the online mapping tool to help you find a suitable route. Most routes are well signposted with finger posts and waymarker discs to assist you on your travels.
