We had hired a barbecue pit and the weather was fantastic. Very helpful ladies at the reception. Easy access to pit by car. Fantastic place would recommend. Just annoyed that no rubbish bin. Had to carry ours.

Had a great time using the mountain bike trail (red route) twice during the week while on a visit to the area. The trail was excellent, the people we met where friendly and welcoming and the people in the lovely clean and good value cafe went out of their way to be helpful. What a lovely place, I will be back!

Anne-Marie WinterWhy isn't there a dedicated dog exercise field at QECP like the excellent one at HCC's Manor Farm Country Park at Hedge End? This would be a great amenity and perhaps cut down on complaints about dog mess, etc. An enclosed field with a double-entry gate is all that's needed. I know many people who would welcome this.

At QECP we have nearly 2,000 acres avaliable for responsible dog owners. It has always been site policy to allow dogs off the lead over the majority of the site rather than to concentrate and direct their activity into a small area. We do welcome dogs, support and promote responsible ownership and offer a discount on the annual season ticket for those who have completed recognised dog training courses.

mike hancockthe Park is fantastic but why is the ladies toilets on Butser still out of use. My Mum (81) walks there regularly and these facilities are important.

I am sorry that the Butser toilets have remained out of action for so long. The site has its own private water supply which has been condemned due to the presence of potentially harmful bacteria. As a consequence not only are we unable to drink the water but it cannot be used for washing. An easy access portaloo has been in place for the duration of the problem and the cafe kiosk opens each weekend. Unfortunately the problem is likely to persist for several months whilst our County Engineers design and install a mains water connection.

T BennettBeing a County Park you would expect the place to be dog friendly? There are signs about keeping your dog any control & to clean up after them, which most people but, WHERE ARE ALL THEBINS?
1 in the car park & 1 by the kiosk within 50mts of each other. It is a little wonder that a pile of bags has collected by a gate up at the top by the north west gate. Not good for the sheep or visitors!

I am sorry that the amount of dog waste caused concern. This is certainely an issue in parts of the site and the rangers patrol and collect on a regular basis. With such a large area of public open access there is a limit to the number of dual use litter bins that we can maintain and at present these are located at the main facility areas and car parks.
On Butser we have recently introduced Dog Control Orders to not only influence the behaviour of dog walkers, but if neccessary with repeat offenders to be able to issue fixed penalty tickets. This has resulted in a doubling of the dog waste deposited in our bins which is a positive sign. I do hope that this situation continues to improve.

Stuart MillarThree generations of Millars visited QECP for the first time yesterday and all agreed that they would like to come back soon. Ages ranged from 5 to 65 and everyone found something to do. After a long(ish) walk to the top (where we found the car park where we probably should have parked in the first place!) we found a nice grass area to practice rugby and netball and a bench where we could eat our picnic. The children enjoyed the play area and our dogs had a good run around.
All in all a great day out. A couple of minor pick up points: the directions to the car parks were not clear ie intuitively we tried to park as close to the visitor centre as possible but in fact should have been as far away as the tracks would allow. Second, although there was a pleasing lack of dog mess given the number of dogs being walked, there was a shortage of bins into which scooped poop could be put meaning either you had to carry it during an otherwise very pleasant walk or people left bags by the path for later collection either by themsleves or, hopefully,by QECP staff.

Andy CoakleyVisited the park to check out the red MTB Route I had heard so much about.Wet conditions hampered my progress along with the wrong tyre choice somewhat on the lower section of the route, dealing with the many off camber roots covered in Autumn leaves..once I got warmed up though and started climbing back up the route began to flow much better. So i was told by a very friendly lady working in the information center, volunteers have been working to repair and enhance the route for us to enjoy. What a great job they have done, and I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed it..For those of you looking for a Full on Red Route with lots of sculptured man made features, the likes of which you find in Wales etc this may not be for you, but for those who enjoy a challenging root strewn singletrack with many ups and some enjoyable switchbacks this would satisfy your appetite, although a little short for some.
