Netley Chapel
Netley Chapel is the last remaining piece of the Royal Victoria Military Hospital. The building provided a spiritual haven for the hospital patients and was a place of worship, prayer and ceremony. In 1966 the rest of the magnificent hospital building was demolished, but the beautiful Chapel was retained as a reminder of the site’s fabulous heritage.
Today, the chapel is now a Heritage Centre. The magnificent Chapel Hall is available to hire for events, conferences and functions.

On most Sunday afternoons and Bank Holiday Mondays, the Friends of the Park run guided tower tours up the 150ft tower for a fascinating bird's eye view of the park and Southampton Water.
The Chapel Hall also contains an interesting exhibition on the history of the hospital, including photographs and relics. Learn about life as a soldier at Netley, discover Royal Victoria’s influence on modern medicine, and find out what Florence Nightingale thought of Britain’s largest military hospital.
The Exhibition is open to the public on Sunday and Bank Holiday afternoons, on heritage open days and by special request to school groups. Charges apply.
