World Rhythms Day
Join us for our World Rhythms day at Royal Victoria Country Park, Netley, on Sunday 31 August and take a musical journey across continents.
Have a go at our drop in workshops or just sit back and enjoy a variety of sounds from hot Latin beats to the music of the rainforest and beyond. If you get hungry, there will be plenty of world food on offer to tempt your taste buds.
Free daytime activities will run from 11pm to 4.30pm (normal parking charges will apply) and include:
- World music and dance performances
- Drumming workshops
- Ukulele jam – why not bring along your ukulele and join in?
- Music workshops
- Dance workshops
- Circus skills
The day will culminate in a two-part evening concert in the historic Royal Victoria Chapel featuring the Spanish and South American sounds of Latin band Sonrisa and original world music and storytelling from Keith Waithe, Sandra Agard and Essequibo music.
The concert will run 5pm – 7pm.
