Small Grants Scheme

What you can apply for

  • The Small Grants Scheme provides funding for improvements to countryside access and rights of way
  • Advice and up to 50% of the total project cost is available, up to a total grant of  £5,000 (or £10,000 for Quality Parishes).
  • Up to 75% of the total project cost is available for projects in the New Forest, due to an additional 25% funding from the New Forest National Park Authority.

Who can apply

  • Parish or Town Councils.
  • Landowners
  • Other organisations (e.g. charities, volunteer/community groups) may apply for interpretation materials (e.g. mapboards, leaflets) to promote countryside access, however for practical improvements the organisation will need to contact the relevant Parish/Town Council to apply on its behalf.

When can you apply

Deadlines for applications in 2013 are:

  • 28 June
  • 27 September
