Corporate Assessment 2007
What is the Corporate Assessment?
The corporate assessment looks at every aspect of how the County Council is managed and how it serves the population of Hampshire. Although this is predominantly an assessment of Hampshire County Council there is a strong emphasis on the quality of partnerships and how we work with partners. It gives us an opportunity to examine how well these partnerships work and improve them.
The results of the Councils most recent Corporate Assessment were published on the 14 August 2007. At the time of announcement Hampshire County Council became only the second County Council to achieve four out of four in the ‘Harder Test’ Corporate Assessment inspections.
The process involved the Council writing a self-assessment which was submitted to the auditors. Then the auditors verified the self-assessment which included a two week on-site fieldwork in May. During this period they interviewed many people, reviewed documentation and observed meetings of the County Council and partner organisations.
