The Queen's Diamond Jubilee

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

Plans are well underway both nationally and in Hampshire to commemorate and celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Marking 60 years of the Queen’s reign the celebrations will culminate in an extended holiday weekend from 2 – 5 June 2012.

In Hampshire the Lord-Lieutenant and Hampshire County Council are encouraging people and organisations to celebrate The Queen's Diamond Jubilee with a variety of county-wide and local events.

Diamond Jubilee Film from Castle Hill Junior School

The Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Dame Mary Fagan, meets pupils from Castle Hill Junior School in Basingstoke. The pupils share some of their impressions of Her Majesty The Queen before asking Dame Mary about The Queen and how Dame Mary will be celebrating The Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Watch their short film.

Service of Thanksgiving

Due to unprecedented public demand we are unable to accept any further applications for tickets to attend the Diamond Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving in Winchester Cathedral on 27 May 2012. Successful applicants will receive printed tickets.

Celebrate without red tape

Building on the arrangements put in place for last year’s Royal Wedding when many people got into the celebratory spirit, Hampshire County Council has published easy to follow guidance so that people can organise small scale street parties with the minimum of fuss.

Plant an oak tree

Hampshire County Council’s major Diamond Jubilee initiative is to encourage the planting of thousands of commemorative oak trees across Hampshire as a lasting legacy to 60 years of The Queen’s reign.
