Applying for a place in a Hampshire school

Admission to Hampshire Schools

The main purpose of this website is to help parents apply for school places for their children in the school year starting in September 2009. The information provided is as accurate as possible. However, there maybe changes during the year as a result of developments in central or local government policies, or at individual schools. Please check with your child’s school or the County Admissions Team at the Children’s Services Department if you are unclear about anything.

Information on this website includes:

  • key information about the admission process, including the timetables for application to Year R, Year 3 and Year 7.

  • information on how to apply outside of the main admission round

  • Hampshire's school admission policies

  • Directory of schools by area giving you important details about each school such as the number of places available, the number of applicants last year and the number admitted, and any admission criteria specific to the school. It also tells you which schools are linked (note: attendance at one school does not guarantee a place at a linked school).

  • Information about other aspects of school life.

Detailed information can also be found in each school's prospectus or website, which is available on the school information pages.

A paper copy of the admissions brochure is also available from your child's school. For further information please contact the Admissions team.
