Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme

Competing at the highest level in any sport is an expensive business. Travel, equipment, training, coaching and physiotherapy – the costs soon add up. The Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme (HTAS) is a support programme designed to give Hampshire’s most talented young athletes access to as much support as possible so that they can reach their full potential. To qualify for HTAS your child must be: aged between 11 and 25; a resident of Hampshire, including Southampton and Portsmouth; supported by their Governing Body of Sport or their Hampshire School Sports Association; and able to demonstrate that they are performing at national competition level.

Full details of the scheme, including an application form, can be found on the website at: www.hants.gov.uk/shiow/talentedathletes.htm

Awards are made annually in September. The deadline for applications is 1 August. For further information contact Ian Beacham Tel: 01962 846367.
