Hampshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT)

Treatment

The DAAT are responsible for introducing the national drug strategy at a local level. One of the ways it carries out its' responsibilities is to commission specialist substance misuse treatment services in conjunction with Primary Care Trusts (PCT's), Local Authorities and other partnerships. Key guidance on commissioning and treatment is provided by the National Treatment Agency (NTA) under Models of Care for Treatment of Adult Drug Users.

Hampshire Operational Model for Effective Recovery

What is HOMER?

The revised model for adult substance misuse services - HOMER - sees the introduction of a holistic approach to drug and alcohol treatment to address a range of clients needs.  It follows the central themes of the National Drug Strategy in order to aid Service User ‘Recovery and Reintegration’.

HOMER seeks to deliver effective and sustained reduction in the harms caused both to the individual and the wider community by illicit or harmful substance and alcohol misuse. This will be achieved through the provision of an integrated, managed approach to identifying and addressing the whole care needs of the individual either directly or through partnership working within a One-Stop-Shop approach.

From April 2011, drug and alcohol services in Hampshire will be changing. Solent Healthcare, in partnership with CRI, will be delivering a county wide integrated drug and alcohol service. For further information and job opportunities with these services, please refer to their respective web sites.

The aim of the Service is to enable all eligible individuals, who present to the service with drug and alcohol problems, to overcome them and live healthy, crime free lives and to realise their potential as individuals and as citizens of the community by making positive and constructive changes in their lives.
