User and Carer Groups
- To work with the Hampshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team, commissioners, providers, service users and carers to promote user involvement in the planning, delivery, monitoring and review of services.·
- To represent users of Substance Misuse services at a service planning level by promoting a philosophy of partnership and participation.·
- To provide regular support to individuals responsible for taking a leading role in the development of user involvement within their agencies.·
- To be involved in the preparation and implementation of needs assessment through the development of a range of consultation/ participation mechanisms. (Surveys, user forums, focus groups, panels) both at project and county level.·
- To identify unmet needs and gaps in service provision ensuring that information received is disseminated, collated and feedback given appropriately to all relevant parties.·
- To coordinate a range of county wide peer mentor initiatives such as user magazines, social events, training, etc. ensuring that wherever possible, strategies for user involvement are developed across agency boundaries·
- To identify appropriate funding and grant sources for individuals and groups to gain knowledge and skills, and thus the ability to develop initiatives further.·
- To plan and coordinate Hampshire Drug Action Team service user representation at local regional and national conferences and events ensuring diverse representation wherever possible.
