Graduate Teacher Programme

The GTP is a school based, salaried route to becoming a qualified teacher.  The majority of time is spent in school with training sessions in a University which offers GTP.

Note that GTP posts in school should be supernumerary to the school’s teaching complement.

Some schools advertise GTP places on the HCC education jobs website at:

www.educationjobs.hants.gov.uk    (select ‘Teaching’ from the menu).

‘Local’ universities offering GTP courses are  Reading, Chichester and Southampton.

Prospective trainees should have a school placement agreed before applying to a University Provider.
