To support schools in setting up the scheme successfully whilst considering the well-being of all children and young people involved, Hampshire EMTAS offers:
Primary and Secondary online registration to Young Interpreter Scheme® Moodle which provides access to guidance and materials to train pupils
A yearly subscription page on Moodle which offers trained Young Interpreters a range of exciting activities aimed to develop their skills
Cost: £70 per school registration including unlimited access to either Primary or Secondary Moodle and one year’s access to subscription page (worth £25)
One registration per school. Download the order form to complete your registration.
Branded badges, certificates, stickers and other items are available to purchase for a small additional cost. See order form for details.

- New Arrival Ambassador Scheme
-
All the materials you need to select and train your New Arrival Ambassadors. Once trained, these pupils will be able to support the integration of pupils arriving in-year eg Looked After Children and Traveller children. Primary and Secondary versions available. Related merchandise includes badges.

- Bespoke support and training

Members of the Hampshire EMTAS team are available to deliver training, to interpret at meetings with parents, to work with school-based colleagues to develop practice and provision for EAL (English as an Additional Language), BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) and GRT (Gypsy, Roma and Traveller) learners and for assessment visits to review the progress of an individual pupil. Prices available on request.

- Positive Parenting Course

A session for parents from ethnic minority backgrounds which provides an opportunity to address key issues relating to bringing up children in two cultures. £110 a session. Additional charge of £90 if bilingual support is needed. Note that there will be an additional charge for sessions scheduled outside of Hampshire.

- Heritage Language GCSEs

Various packages available to prepare pupils for their Heritage Language GCSE and administer the speaking test. Available in a range of languages. Note that there may be an additional charge for schools outside of Hampshire.
- Dual language Story telling Session

Story-telling in two languages, this session supports younger children to enjoy a shared experience of story and promotes cultural and linguistic diversity in your setting.

- Persona Doll Session

A powerful session to boost the self-esteem of EAL (English as an Additional Language) and Traveller children. Also useful for all children in raising their awareness of other cultures and languages in a positive way. EMTAS has Persona Dolls representing 12+ languages and countries, each with their own personality, likes, dislikes and life histories. Suitable for Key Stage 1.
