Management Training

We focus training for schools:
- on topical personnel issues delivered either in-school or at a suitable local venue
- in a way which best suits the needs of the school - this could be through INSET, groups of schools, etc
- at a time which is convenient to the school - for example, during the school day or in twilight sessions
Training is provided by experienced Education Personnel Specialists and is relevant to the needs of schools. It is aimed at improving both individual and whole school effectiveness. It is workshop-based with tutor input and provides an opportunity for interaction and sharing of the issues facing schools. Example topics for delivery are set below.
- Managing Staff Reductions
- Managing Staff Absence - long/short term
- Embedding performance management
- Health and Safety issues
- Handling performance pay and teacher progressions (on UPS, main scale, leadership spine)
- Performance management for team leaders
- Personnel management for school leaders and administrative officers
- Developing management skills including assertion and conflict management
- Introducing performance management for support staff
- Preparing for school workforce re-modelling
- Attracting and retaining an effective workforce
- Managing NQT induction for induction tutors
The list of topics is illustrative and schools can commission individualised training from Education Personnel in specific areas relevant to their needs. This is subject to the availability of an EPS consultant to deliver the activity. Charges for this training reflect course preparation, delivery time and associated costs.
