Safer Recruitment Workshop (with assessment) [GT133]

Who will benefit? All governors in all schools. Headteachers should attend the courses on this topic offered by Education Personnel Services as these are better tailored to their management role.

What will you learn? identify the key features of staff recruitment that help deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people consider policies and practices that minimise opportunities for abuse or ensure its prompt reporting begin to review their own and their organisations policies and practices in recruitment with a view to making them safer. NB this is not a comprehensive workshop on staff recruitment and selection (for that see Selecting & Interviewing 2-day Course GT129). At the end of the workshop, delegates will be offered the opportunity to complete Children s Workforce Development Council assessment. Successful completion allows schools to have evidence for Ofsted that those involved in their selection processes have been properly trained . It is therefore an alternative to the national on-line training programme.
