What will you learn? In September, a number of changes will come into force which impact on governing body decisions about pay. They allow more local flexibility eg. Allowing governing bodies to set the salary for classroom teachers, to create posts above the upper pay scale and use fixed-term responsibility allowances for time-limited projects. They also reinforce the responsibility of governing bodies to ensure their pay decisions appropriately and effectively reward performance. Sending your Resources committee chair or another representative to these briefings will enable your governing body to make informed decisions later this term.
