HMS String Project
Our current string project aims to involve and benefit all HMS string teachers and their pupils. The early part of this project was a research and information gathering stage, during which staff and pupils were visited in their schools by our external consultant, Chris Hirons. Chris has extensive experience as a performer, conductor of string ensembles and as a teacher, and is continuing to work with HMS through the activity phase of the project.
The aims of the project are to support all string staff in their work in schools and in their ensembles, to provide additional professional development opportunities, to develop some common resource material that will be of particular help to all pupils, (but particularly those who transfer across schools and teachers,) to facilitate additional playing days and opportunities for pupils, and to raise the profile of string work across the county.
Further information and requests about the project should be made to HMS on 023 8065 2037 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
HMS staff can access resource material via the staff section.
