Listen2Me

Listen2Me is Hampshire Music Service's exciting opportunity to deliver the Government's pledge that "over time, all KS2 children should have the opportunity to learn an instrument" through whole class teaching.  HMS offers tuition and provides equipment and necessary resources on a choice of three different instruments, with one term spent on each. This unique approach enables children to make an informed choice when wanting to go on to learn an instrument at a higher level.

During the school year 11/12, 208 primary schools will be receiving Listen2Me tuition from HMS.

Instrument choices include:

Brass	Voice	Strings (violin/cello)
Keyboard	Clarinet	Samba
African Percussion	Recorder	Ukulele

Listen2Me: Special

The Government pledged that "all children" should have the opportunity to learn an instrument. HMS offers a comprehensive Listen2Me package to all Special schools with KS2 pupils. Children have the opportunity to experience three different approaches to music over half a year. Instrument choices include voice, keyboard, samba, African percussion, resonance boards, ukulele and junk percussion.

Listen2Me: KS1

Following the successful pilot year in 2010/11, this year (11/12) now has 40 KS1 schools taking part in this exciting extension to the KS2 programme. Instrument choices include: voice, ukulele, recorder, African percussion, samba and tuned percussion.

Listen2Me2 'The Next Step'

After a year of Hampshire Music Service's exciting Listen2Me project, children wanting to continue to learn an instrument can learn together in a Listen2Me2 group.  Children are taught in large groups (between 8 and 12) for a minimum of 30 minutes.  Instruments are supplied to the children for one year free of charge which they will be able to take home to practise on whilst they are having their Listen2Me2 lessons.  Contact HMS for further details and to discuss opportunities for starting a Listen2Me2 group in your school.
