North East Hampshire Area Schools Brass Bands
Tour update and Remembrance Day Service
The North East Hampshire Area Schools Brass Bands have just returned from a tour of Germany. The Aldershot-based bands, part of the network of 70 youth ensembles provided by the Hampshire Music Service, were visiting their twin town of Oberursel which is located north west of Frankfurt. The thirty five members are aged between 9 and 18 years old and gave seven concerts in four days, performing in schools and retirement homes. Their final performance was a joint concert with the celebrated local Frohsinn Carnival Brass Band. The Carnival Chairman, Stephan Remes, thanked the British musicians for “their wonderful music” and presented the conductors, Hampshire Music Service staff Simon Wyld and Wendy Brett with medals.
On Sunday 13 November the bands will be taking part in the annual Remembrance Service at the Ash War Memorial in Ash Hill Road starting at 10.30am. For further details please call 023 8065 2037 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
