Music Curriculum Team
The curriculum team within Hampshire Music Service provides support to all Hampshire schools for both class teaching and extended curriculum activities. The team therefore provides support to Primary, Secondary and Special schools, along with support for the Extended Curriculum, including Singing, Recorders, Gamelan, Rock and Pop music, African Drumming, Samba and after school clubs
The team consists of an Inspector, Primary Music Consultants, Vocal Coordinators, and Coordinators for World and Rock Music.
The team's aim is to help raise standards of music provision and teaching within Hampshire schools from FS to KS4, so that standards of pupils' musical achievements in school are improved.
To achieve this, the team's objectives are to establish, maintain and develop a range of support strategies for Music education. The strategies include a balance of:
Inspecting, monitoring and giving advice to schools;
Continuing professional development opportunities for all teachers;
Curriclum documentation and teaching resources;
Provision of teaching to schools;
A variety of developmental workshops, festivals and special projects for all pupils and their teachers
