Hampshire Music Service: Music Curriculum Information
Welcome! This section represents the Curriculum team. It is designed for class music teachers so that they can share resources, learn about standards, and keep up to date with latest events, news and information.
Music Curriculum Team
The curriculum team provides support to Primary, Secondary and Special schools, along with support for the extended curriculum, including Singing, Recorders, Gamelan, Rock and Pop music, African Drumming, Samba and after school clubs
The team consists of an Inspector, Primary Music Consultants and Specialist Coordinators. The team's aim is to help raise standards of music provision and teaching within Hampshire schools from FS to KS4, so that pupils' musical experience and achievements in school are improved.
To achieve this, the team's objectives are to establish, maintain and develop a range of support strategies for Music education. The strategies include a balance of:
Inspecting, monitoring and giving advice to schools;
Continuing professional development opportunities for all teachers;
Curriclum documentation and teaching resources;
Provision of teaching to schools;
A variety of developmental workshops, festivals and special projects for all pupils and their teachers
The Hampshire Vocal Conference is back for a second year!
Friday 8 July 2016, Marwell Hotel, Winchester
With another cracker of a keynote speaker, Dominic Peckham, it proves to be yet another fulfilling day of singing
and vocal learning for community and education settings.
Dominic has recently appeared as lead mentor on BBC2’s The Naked Choir with Gareth Malone, first aired in September 2015,
with vocal groups across the UK competing to be the best a cappella group.
