Bronze open expedition package

Date: Tuesday 29 to Thursday 31 May 2018 and/or Monday 30 to Tuesday 31 July 2018.

Price: £50 per person per expedition. Price includes all campsite fees and food during the training element.

Location: New Forest

During the training element of this course food and accommodation is included in the price as are all campsite fees when on expedition. You will, however, have to supply all your expedition food as this is not included in the price. There will be an opportunity to buy food the day before the practice expedition (after the menu planning instruction).

Open Bronze Qualifying Expedition

Date: Monday 30 to Tuesday 31 July 2018.

Price: £50, this price includes camping fees.

Location: South Downs

This expedition can count as either a practice or a qualifying expedition.

We do the route planning for this expedition over e-mail. In June we will set up an e-mail list for your group and you will be given the grid references of the campsites and assigned a day to route plan before the expedition. On this planning day your route card will be checked and you will plot it on a map and then link it together with your team to create a whole expedition map and route card. Between you, you will also have to decide on the aim for your expedition.

This expedition includes no training. It is designed for individuals who, for whatever reason, could not complete their practice or qualifying expeditions as planned (or who have been trained by a Hampshire DofE Centre). We will need to see proof that you have received full expedition training.

Open Silver Expedition Package

Date: Friday 20 to Sunday 22 July 2018 and/or Monday 13 to Wednesday 15 August 2018.

Price: £150 per person per expedition. Price includes all campsite fees during the training element.

Location: Purbeck

Open Silver Qualifying Expedition

Date: Monday 13 to Wednesday 15 August 2018.

Price: £150, this price includes camping fees.

Location: Wye Valley

This expedition can count as either a practice or a qualifying expedition.

Gold open expedition package

For 2018 we are running a Gold open expedition package that will include all training and a Practice Expedition in one 5 full day stint and then a Qualifying Expedition.

Date: Monday 9 to Friday 13 April 2018 and/or Sunday 15 to Thursday 19 July 2018.

Price: £300 per person per expedition. Price includes all campsite fees and food during the training element.

Location: Exmoor

Set off location: Winchester  Set off time: 6am

The course consists of 2 evenings and 2 days of training followed immediately by a 3 day and 2 night practice expedition. During your training you will cover all areas of the DofE expedition syllabus and plan your practice expedition. You will then immediately go out on your practice expedition. We will then say goodbye and give you a couple of months to reflect on, and practice what you have learnt. You then have the choice of taking your qualifying expedition with us Sunday 15 to Thursday 19 July 2018.

Open Gold Qualifying Expedition

Date: Sunday 15 to Thursday 19 July 2018.

Price: £300, this price includes 4 nights camping fees.

Location: Lake District

Set off location: Winchester  Set off time: 1pm

This expedition can count as either a practice or a qualifying expedition.

We do the route planning for this expedition over e-mail. In June we will set up an e-mail list for your group and you will be given the grid references of the campsites and assigned a day to route plan before the expedition. On this planning day your route card will be checked and you will plot it on a map and then link it together with your team to create a whole expedition map and route card. Between you, you will also have to decide on the aim for your expedition.

On the afternoon of 15 July we will meet up and go through navigation and emergency procedures refresher and a kit check. You will need to bring your own food for the duration of the expedition and a meal for the first evening or money to buy food in a nearby pub.
