Newly Qualified Teachers
Every year Hampshire recruits around 800 NQTs - come and join us!
These pages are for trainees who will qualify at the end of the current academic year, or for NQTs who are already qualified but have not yet completed their Induction Year.
- Click on the link on the left to find out more about how to apply for our NQT Recruitment Register and what you need to do before you can take up employment as a fully qualified teacher.
- The Register is for final-year trainees looking for teaching posts for the following September (and, in the case of those already fully qualified, for posts available before September)
- Applying for the Register does not commit you to working for Hampshire, or for a particular school, and we do not allocate NQTs to schools. It is simply a means of making applicants' details available to prospective employers. Hampshire does not pre-interview or in any way vet applicants for the Register. A school wishing to interview an applicant will contact them directly. If they offer the applicant a job, the school will carry out pre-employment checks and request references.
- Each academic year the Register runs from autumn (when trainees may begin to input their details) and July, when it is closed and the new Register for the following year is set up. Details of trainees on the Register are accessible to schools from January onwards.
- Register early to make sure that schools have your details early in their recruitment process for September
