Payment Guidance
Who pays Supply Teachers depends on whether the work is through a local arrangement with a school or through one of the supply agencies. Payments will be made by:
Claiming process for supply work via Local Arrangements with Schools
Schools now have access to County Council's Human Resource/Payroll system (SAP) and they will be responsible for entering the details of any work supply teachers carry out at their school directly onto the SAP system.
A flow chart (see link below) explains the steps to be taken including what to do if you do not currently have an active supply teaching payroll record with Hampshire County Council.
If you do have an active supply teaching payroll record please ensure that, when you do supply work in the future, you tell the school administrative officer what your corresponding Personnel Number is. This will help to speed up the process for schools that have access to SAP and will ensure that you are paid correctly.
However, if you do supply teaching at a Foundation (former Grant Maintained) school the process set out it the flow chart will not apply. Instead the school administrative officer will, as now, retain details of the work you do and arrange for payment to be made on a separate pay record, with it's own unique Personnel Number.
