This report refers to safeguarding adults in a community safety context, ensuring people are safe and feel safe in their community. It seeks commitment to adopt and promote a range of 'Safeguarding' activity and best practice which may not necessarily be considered statutory interventions or core business, but are supported across our partnerships. This activity forms part of our Prevention and Early Intervention approach.
This report focuses around six key objectives from which a joint Action Plan will be developed with partners; namely,
# raising awareness, personal responsibility and personal safety, thus enabling people to keep themselves safe
# raising the level of awareness and sensitivity within the community to community safety and safeguarding issues
# ensuring staff employed by agencies are sensitive to an individual in potentially abusive circumstances and take appropriate action
# aligning protection processes which currently exist, for example, where relevant, work linked to domestic abuse, public health, offenders and substance misuse.
# sharing information and information exchange, including identifying suitable information technology
# working with perpetrators of crime and disorder.
