SIMS Discover drop-in sessions

June 2013

Update: the sessions planned for 3 June have been cancelled. The sessions on 20 June may be rescheduled.

Hampshire IT will be running drop-in sessions for schools with Centrally Hosted SIMS who wish to have a brief introduction to Discover.

The sessions will last approximately 60 minutes with a chance for questions at the end.

An introduction to the Hosted School Service

7 June 2013

This event is for primary schools which are considering moving to the Hosted School Service, or simply want to know more about it.

We'd like to invite headteachers and ICT leads from Hampshire primary schools to attend this free informal event at Falcon House, Winchester on 7 June 2013, from 1pm to 4pm.

We'll give you an overview of HSS, explain the technology behind it and how it can lead to real improvements in teaching and learning. Most importantly, we'll have guests from schools already using HSS who will tell you about their experiences and answer your questions.

Please email itadvice@hants.gov.uk if you would like to book a place.

Hampshire ICT Strategic Forum

30 Sept 2013

On 30 September we will be hosting a free event for leadership to share, discuss and debate the strategic issues in education regarding ICT.

Topics of debate will include

  • Developing the school workforce: how can staff best be continually developed?
  • Bring your own devices. What are the issues? What are the options? Which platform is best? How will this work with Hampshire IT services? We will have partners from Microsoft and other representatives to answer questions.
  • Making better use of performance data for school improvement.
  • Strategic investment in ICT.

In previous years we have had some fantastic debate and ideas shared across the school community. If you are in a leadership position in a school you would be welcome to contribute and we look forward to seeing you on the 30 September.

Places are limited so please book soon. Sign up form.
