Elections in Hampshire County Council

Every four years there is a county-wide election in which all 75 electoral divisions choose their representatives. Three divisions elect two councillors so Hampshire County Council has 78 Councillors.
Your County Councillors use local knowledge to help the Council make decisions on the essential services provided, including education, roads, social care, libraries and access to the countryside. They are a focus for residents who have concerns or want things done.

County Council Elections 2 May 2013

The final results of the elections for each of the 75 Hampshire County Council divisions were received at 3:40am on Friday 3 May 2013 following overnight counting at the district venues.

The result is that the Conservative Party has retained overall control of Hampshire County Council, with 45 seats. The Liberal Democrats won 17, UKIP ten, Labour four, Independent one and Community Campaign (Hart) one.

The turnout for these elections was 31 per cent of the electorate.
