Who does what in Audit Services/team structure
Roles and the appropriate levels of management and supervision are essential to providing an efficient and effective internal audit service. Each level of our management structure has clear responsibilities for each part of the process and we ensure that these standards are never compromised.
Neil Pitman, Chief Internal Auditor for the County Council. He is responsible for the overall strategic direction of Hampshire Audit Services, ensuring that we have the appropriate mix of skills and experience to meet your needs.
Heads of Audit act as Heads of Internal Audit for external contracts. They are responsible for the overall management of contracts, approving strategic internal audit plans and annual internal audit reports.
Audit Managers are responsible for managing the efficient and effective delivery of our service. They are responsible for the management review and supervision of the planning, delivery and reporting of every audit assignment, in addition to performing more complex reviews themselves.
Senior Auditors and Auditors are responsible for supervising or carrying out the majority of work on site. Each audit assignment will be controlled by a named lead auditor, who will liaise with staff throughout the audit visit, report to senior management at the end of the audit visit and prepare the draft report.
Audit Technicians are responsible for carrying out work on site and preparing draft reports under the supervision of the lead auditor.
