Investing in the future

• In 2007/08, we will spend £96 million on school building and other Children’s Services projects including continuing work on a new and replacement primary schools in Hedge End, and the first phase of establishing children’s centres across the county.
• £56 million will be spent improving Hampshire’s local transport and on the structural maintenance of roads and footways.
• The annual programme of £1 million for improving local Household Waste Recycling Centres will continue.
• Work will be completed on the new Winchester Discovery Centre.
• Work will continue on the major £40 million scheme to refurbish Ashburton Court in Winchester.
