Change in spending
The County Council's budget is that part of its expenditure funded by general Government grant (22%) and council tax (78%).
In 2010/11 the County Council expects to spend £1,830 million on services compared with £1,749 million in 2009/10. After deducting specific grants, including the schools grant, and income from fees and charges, the County Council has set a budget of £672 million. This is an increase of 2.3% after adjusting for funding changes.
