Change in spending
The County Council's budget is that part of its expenditure funded by general Government grant (26%) and council tax (74%).
In 2011/12 the County Council expects to spend £1,913 million on services compared with £1,830 million in 2010/11. After deducting specific grants, including the schools grant, and income from fees and charges, the County Council has set a budget of £716 million. This is a decrease of 3.5% after adjusting for funding changes.
