The budget for highway maintenance during 2009/10 is £59.3 million.

   

2. How much is spent on waste disposal?

£44.6 million was spent during 2008/09 on waste disposal and £48.1 million has been budgeted for 2009/10, this includes a contingency of £2.9 million to cover the costs of inflation and landfill tax rises.

   

3. What is the landfill tax rate?

£40 per tonne in 2009/10 and rising by £8 per year until it reaches £72 per tonne in 2013/14.
