Remember that to have a healthy lifestyle, most people should be eating:

  • More fruit and vegetables (5 a day)

  • More starchy foods such as rice, bread, pasta (try wholegrain) and potatoes

  • Less fat, salt and sugar

  • Some protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, eggs and pulses

and drinking:

  • About 6 to 8 glasses of water a day (1.2 litres in total)

  • Less alcohol. (Avoid binge drinking. Don't exceed 1 or 2 drinks a day)

and exercising:

  • Around 5 times a week for 30 minutes - walking, cycling and swimming are great ways to burn off those calories.
