Affordable Family Camping Holidays

Tile Barn is a 14 acre site situated within a 20 minute walk of Brockenhurst train station, which is within Brockenhurst village. It is in the heart of the New Forest and an extremely popular camping destination. Brockenhurst boasts many pubs, tea rooms and quaint forest shops. It has miles of open forest and enclosures, along with walking, cycling and horse riding routes. There are many interesting towns and villages within a short drive of the centre, such as Lymington with it’s famous Saturday Market, extending down the whole of the High Street, Beaulieu and the Motor Museum, Bucklers Hard and Lyndhurst. Just a short train journey away are Bournemouth, Poole and Southampton.

Hampshire County Council employees are invited to make use of this exclusive site, usually only available for pre-booked groups and schools. The HCC employee must be the person that makes the booking and is present for the duration of the stay. We can not accept any bookings by a HCC employee on behalf of someone else. The centre is not open to the general public.

The cost for camping is £7.20 inc VAT per person per night with a minimum stay of two nights and under 5yrs go free! A deposit of half of the cost of your stay is due upon confirming the booking and final payment of your stay will be due upon arrival. Cancellation will result in the loss of deposit. .

We will be asking groups to please arrive after 2pm and on the day of departure to be off site by 11am.

All groups must provide their own camping equipment. BBQ's are available for hire at £30+VAT per day. (Subject to availability and must be pre booked) Disposable BBQ's are not allowed on site, however you are more than welcome to bring your own gas BBQ. You can also bring your own Gazebo, but Tile Barn must be informed so that we can allocate adequate space.

Tile Barn has a souvenir shop selling small inexpensive gifts. We will also have a small amount of provisions for sale during the summer months and can provide a welcome pack of essentials for arrival upon request (must be pre-booked and paid for in advance).

You will also have access to our new Toilet and Shower facilities.

Activity costs will be £6 per person per 1.5hour activity session. There will be a programme of activities running each day, on the following session times:

  • 9.30–1055. First session of the day
  • 11.05–12.30. Second session of the day.
  • 12.30–13.30. Lunch time
  • 13.30–14.55 Third session of the day.
  • 15.05–16.30 Last session of the day.

You will be able to sign up to any of the activities whilst you are staying with us. Just pop into reception to sign up to and pay for an activity. These activities are on a first come first serve basis, once we reach the maximum group size we will be fully booked on that particular activity. Activities will be running Monday-Saturday. No activities on Sunday. Activities will vary and may be amended at short notice.

If you are interested in making a booking or would like to check availability of a date during the above camping period please do let us know. Once we have confirmed that your required dates are available, we can make a provisional booking for you which we can hold for 14 days. Then please download a booking form and booking conditions from this page and forward them to us along with a non-refundable deposit of half the cost of your camp. Cheques are payable to Hampshire County Council. Upon request, we can send you an invoice. The final balance will be due upon your arrival at the Centre.
