Reminiscence activities

Reminiscence, the act of recalling life experience, is a very enjoyable activity for all ages.

The Museums Service has a wealth of social history collections evocative of life in the middle decades of the last century, which means we are able to offer reminiscence workshops for anyone old enough to remember old money and pounds and ounces!

SEARCH, our hands-on centre in Gosport, can offer themed subjects such as ‘The Old Corner Shop’, ‘A Great Night Out’ or ‘Busy About the House’ .Combined with social and creative activities designed to encourage the sharing of reminiscences, these provide an hour or two of exploration down memory lane. This can take place at a day centre, residential home or club meeting place or at SEARCH itself with its accessible 20th century room set.

Further information on Reminiscence workshops at or near to SEARCH in Gosport.

For information on outreach Reminiscence Workshops elsewhere in the county, contact Museum Headquarters at Chilcomb House and ask for one of the Learning and Access team.
