What is the publication scheme?
Under Section 19 of the Freedom of Information Act, local authorities such as Hampshire County Council are required to produce a publication scheme. The publication scheme details all the information we publish or intend to publish and tells you how that information is made available, ie in hard copy or on-line. If you request information found in our publication scheme, the scheme will give details of whether it is available free of charge or for a fee.
The publication scheme is not a complete list of every publication and leaflet produced, but rather a list of ‘classes’ or types of information that the County Council makes available. In some cases a ‘class’ is a series or group of documents – for example, policy documents for a particular area of the County Council's work – in others it is an individual document such as the County Council's Forward plan. The publication scheme will be reviewed and updated on a regular basis, as new classes of information are published.
Where is the publication scheme?
Our publication scheme is available on-line. It has been split into sections by department: a list of sections is given at the bottom of each page. We have provided an alphabetical index that cross-references the publications by name. You can also download the entire scheme as a Microsoft Word document for printing.
You can also view it at Hampshire County Council information centres, libraries and other public information points
Or you can request a copy by contacting the Chief Executive’s Department on 01962 841841.
