Wish You Were Here? Seaside Holidays (KS1)
A two hour hands-on led session for one class of KS1 pupils, exploring what seaside holidays were like in the past.
Our Town in The Past – Local History (KS2)
A KS2 led session exploring the local history of Gosport.
Pupils will:
- Handle real historical objects
- Examine and compare maps to see how the town has changed
- Discover what photographs can reveal about the past
- Investigate a Victorian Gosport resident using census records, school logs and other records to find out about her life.
This session supports QCA History Unit 18 and National Curriculum KS 2 Local History Study. This two-hour hands-on session is led by a trained facilitator.
Gosport Geology Gallery
Self-led Gallery visit and ‘Rock around Gosport’ geology walk (KS2)
A new, FREE self-led visit for KS2 groups doing the Rocks and Soils unit, linked with a geology walking trail along Gosport High Street. An ideal add-on to the Geology in Action session at SEARCH in the same building.
Cost
Led sessions cost £20 per hour and last for two hours. Sessions are for one class of up to 35 children.

Facilities
There are limited toilet facilities available for pupils use, so please ensure your pupils use their school facilities prior to their visit.
We don’t have a lunchroom at the Discovery Centre, but the studio area may be available for use. Please contact the Education Officer to discuss.
