Information and Reference Resources at Gosport Discovery Centre

Gosport Discovery Centre has a wealth of traditional information and reference resources on the first and second floors. Exciting new developments in the use of online resources means that we can also offer a wide variety of information in different media.

The Discovery Centre contains special zones, with the books grouped by subject areas where both reference and lending items are available (see links on the left). For other subjects consult the Library catalogue.

Popular magazines and newspapers
On the ground floor - with daily newspapers available to read while you relax with a cup of coffee in the café, or browse through your favourite weekly magazine on a comfortable sofa!

Journals
The hobbies, educational and specialist journals are all located on the first and second floors, alongside the books on the same subjects.

The Local Studies Centre is housed in the former Gosport Museum, just across from the main Discovery Centre building.

Reference Library Online
We have free access to the latest and most up to date information available. All you need is your library card number.

Business information
A wide range of books for business is available, as well as access to European information, newspapers and journals, standards and specifications information, statistics and market research, government information, trade directories, telephone books and travel information. We provide access to Hatrics, the Southern Information Network for local business as well as detailed information about limited companies in the UK and about directors and insolvencies.
