Good Neighbour Award Scheme 2013
Do you know someone who makes a difference in your community and especially to you? Would you like to nominate them for an award? The Good Neighbour Awards, introduced nine years ago, give you the opportunity to recognise publicly the support of neighbours and volunteers who gave you that ‘bit of help’ to stay independent at home during 2012.
It’s often the small things, such as getting to the shops, collecting prescriptions, or keeping the garden tidy. Maybe you know an individual or a local voluntary group, who helps make these tasks easier. This is your chance to say thank you to them. Here are some comments from last year’s nominations:
“Always available to help, support, offer a lift or a friendly ear!”
“She has children and is so busy but still makes time to help me.”
“The team of volunteers work very hard to cook us great lunches every week.”
This award has been created by Hampshire County Council in partnership with Age Concern Hampshire, Brendoncare ClubHampshire, Carers Together, the Good Neighbours Support Service and the WRVS.
The winners and those who nominated them will be invited to a special ceremony in The Great Hall, Winchester on 21 March 2013. Please send your nominations to:
