Hampshire’s Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy – working together for a healthier Hampshire 2013 2018

The Hampshire Joint Health & Wellbeing Strategy (JHWS) is the countywide strategy to improve health and wellbeing of the people of Hampshire, informed by the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA).  It includes strategic priorities to be addressed across the county.

The four strategy themes are:

Starting Well - supporting every child to thrive and do well

Living Well – so people choose to live healthier lives

Ageing Well – so people remain independent; have choice and control and timely access to high quality services

Healthy Communities – so people live in strong and supportive communities.

A high level implementation plan has been agreed by the Hampshire Health & Wellbeing Board.  The District Health & Wellbeing Forum has the lead for the ‘Healthy Communities’ theme.

There is no set financial allocation to the JHWS and no new money is available for implementation. The strategy provides a framework for the use of reducing resources to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Hampshire. The JHWS provides a platform to do things differently and bring commissioners together to work on agreed joint priorities across health, social care and wellbeing.
