The Baldwin FamilyAnother great craft activity in Winchester Great Hall - making dragons and castles. The staff come up with fantastic ideas and are really helpful. Thank you!

Shelley FredmanWe've only been in Winchester 2 days having moved from Yokohama, Japan. To have this incredible part of history on our new doorstep is just briliant. We have been watching the BBC's series, Merlin so the timing was perfect. Our 7 year old daughter was fascinated by the 'real' story. The ladies in the gift shop were so friendly and helpful. THANKYOU! We are thoroughly enjoying our knights and horses. This is sure to be the first of many happy visits

Francesca BrookdA fantastic place. It was a great emotion for me to see the Round Table. The garden is another pleasant place to be. Everything was absolutely perfect. We also visited the exhibition about Winchester and a visit to the gift shop is a must. We will come back again!

Rebekah PoolAfter driving down from London to spend the day in Winchester it was a great shame that the hall was closed for the entire day due to a wedding. There were plenty of people arriving at the door only to be turned away, I should imagine a great number of them were overseas visitors. Perhaps you should restrict your wedding parties to either a morning or afternoon giving visitors to Winchester a chance to see the Great Hall. We were told 'come back tomorrow'! I dont think so, plenty more to see in the UK.
Great Hall replies
We are sorry to hear of your disappointment at finding the Great Hall closed for a wedding. We post all closures on the website and encourage visitors to check before making a special trip. We hope you enjoyed your visit to Winchester despite being unable to see the Great Hall and Round Table, and hope will be able to visit us in the future.

Paul PackerWe were visiting our friends in the U.K. and randomly decided to go see the Great Hall. We were unaware that the Forty Part Motet was on display. The visit to the Hall with the Motet playing was truly amazing! Being in the Hall with it's history, seeing the Round Table, and hearing the hypnotic music was like a religious experience. It was so beautiful that it gave me goose bumps and nearly brought me to tears.
