Harbour Patrol Team
The roles of the Assistant Harbour Masters Patrol Teams are:
- Enable the safe use of the harbour for all River Users by giving practical assistance afloat, advice and directions.
- Ensure the byelaws are observed and maintained.
- Monitoring and reporting pollution incidents.
- Monitoring and protecting the environment of the River.
- Supervise the running of the Harbour Authority jetties and pontoons.
- Collect harbour dues and other charges.
The patrol team are responsible for over seven miles of navigable channel in the harbour and are unable to be everywhere at once. Your assistance would be a great help in keeping us informed. If you see a breach of the byelaws, a vessel hitting a moored boat, someone needing assistance, pollution of the water or a suspicious incident, please let the patrol know on VHF Channel 68 by calling ‘Hamble Harbour Radio’ or ‘Hamble Patrol’.
