Notice To River Users 6 of 2008

Lifeboat, Liferaft and Man Overboard Operations

1. All vessels are warned that lifeboat, liferaft and man overboard training operations take place from time to time in the vicinity of the Warsash Maritime College Jetty. These operations include simulation of rescue procedures and will involve fast RIBs.

2. Before such training takes place the person in charge of the operations should report to Hamble Harbour Radio on VHF Channel 68 stating start time, estimated finish time and the nature of operations.

3. Hamble Harbour Radio will pass on this information as necessary to vessel calling in on VHF Channel 68.

4. All vessels fitted with VHF radios are reminded of the guidance in Notice to River Users No. 4 of 2008 – ‘VHF Radio Communications’.
