Barbecue Hire
Royal Victoria Country Park has an excellent range of affordable Barbecue facilities. Why not book one of our BBQs and have an enjoyable time out
Each BBQ is available for 2 sessions a day, 11am to 4pm and 6pm to 10pm.
Standard parking charges apply to all BBQ users. Please park in the overflow car park and purhcase a ticket from our pay and display machine.

Cost £65 (BBQs held between 1 October - 31 March half price)
- Cypress is located in an attractive wooded area
- Oak is located in a scenic open area with views of the Heritage Visitor Centre and close to children’s play areas
- Laurel is located in an attractive open area
- Willow is situated in a wooded area
- Rowan is situated above Primrose in a shady area
Small barbecues
Bluebell and Primrose
Capacity 20 - 25
Cost £35 (BBQs held between 1 October - 31 March half price)
- Bluebell is located in a scenic open area with views of the Heritage Centre and close to children’s play facilities
- Primrose is situated in a shaded area
- We do not take provisional bookings and the booking is not confirmed until payment has been received.
- We accept cash, credit cards or cheques: please make payable to Hampshire County Council.
- Please call into the shop or tel 02380 455157 between 10am to 4.30pm to check the availability of the time and date that you would like to book. All of our BBQs are very popular, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
- A booking form will be sent to you which will need to be completed and returned, alternatively it can be downloaded, completed and returned with payment if applicable to
BBQ hire

- The Site is patrolled regularly throughout the year
We supply the BBQ and grill
- You will need to bring your own charcoal (approx 5kg per 50 people)
- Charcoal is available from the Heritage Visitor Centre
- Gloves and apron
- First aid kit
- Safety matches and firelighters
- Cooking utensils - long handled forks, skewers etc
- Tin foil
- Bucket for water

- Standard Pay & Display charges apply to all BBQ users both day and night throughout the year.
- Organisers can use BBQ areas to drop off equipment but must ensure everyone parks in the overflow carpark.
- Those using Hawthorn BBQ area can park in Tall Pines Car Park which is close by.
- All payments are non refundable.
- The organiser is responsible for the control of the BBQ area during the hire period and should have a mobile phone available in case of emergency.
- The organiser must conform to any instructions given by the Park Management.
- All daytime BBQs must finish by 4pm and evening BBQs by 10pm and all areas cleared by these times.
- If you are bringing a coach, please inform the park at the time of booking, parking fees per coach are £10. The coach car park is located in the Tall Pines Car Park.
- Coaches are not permitted in the park for evening BBQs due to gate closing times.
- Bouncy Castles/Inflatables can only be used if booked via Little Monsters www.littlemonsters-bouncycastles.co.uk or 0800 043 0346.
- Amplified music, marquees, bonfires and camping are prohibited in the BBQ areas.
- Disposable BBQs are not allowed.
- Only charcoal is to be used as fuel.
- Once the BBQ is lit, it must not be left unattended. Keep children well away from the BBQ. A bucket of water must be kept next to the BBQ at all times in case of an emergency.
- Water is available from taps at various points around the site - please refer to the map.
- Prior to departure, please ensure the BBQ is burnt out. Cold ash should be properly disposed of in the bins provided. The organiser is responsible for cleaning the BBQ grill.
- The organiser is responsible for leaving the BBQ area in a clean & tidy condition. All litter is to be disposed of in the skip provided; failure to do so will result in a charge.
- The BBQs are in a public area – please have consideration for other visitors. The BBQ area must not be used in any way to cause nuisance, damage, disturbance, annoyance or inconvenience to the management of the park, park users or residents.
- Dogs are permitted but must be kept under control at all times.
- The organiser must indemnify HCC against any claims, costs, damages, liabilities or expenses that may arise from the booking.
- Please observe & respect park regulations & instructions, byelaws & the country code at all times.
- The Park management reserves the right to inspect the site at any time and terminate the BBQ if the above guidelines are not being met.
