Small Grants Scheme projects
The Small Grants Scheme provides funding for improvements to countryside access and rights of way and/or conservation projects to benefit the habitat or species particularly important to a site.
Countryside Access

- Surfacing and drainage work
- Replacing stiles with gates
- Installation of a boardwalk
- Replacing/installing bridges
- Producing mapboards or leaflets to encourage access to the countryside
- Volunteer group support (e.g. tools, training, establishment)
Preference is given to practical improvements to rights of way and open access land.
Biodiversity

- Scrub clearance and weed control
- Mowing and removing grass, spreading green hay
- Erecting fencing, putting in water troughs or transporting stock to site
- Hedge planting and laying
- Tree planting, pruning, thinning and coppicing
- Pond creation, riverbank restoration, wetland management
- Labour, equipment or professional fees
- Volunteer group support (e.g. tools, training, establishment)
- Interpretation panels about the above
