About us
Staunton Country Park was established as a visitor attraction in 1987.
The land which makes up Staunton Country Park is owned by the Countryside Service, part of Hampshire County Council's Culture, Community and Rural Affairs department and Portsmouth Water Limited.
Staunton is partnership managed through a Joint Management Committee (JMC) comprising members from Hampshire County Council, Havant Borough Council and East Hampshire District Council. There is also a Stakeholder Forum which advises the JMC and comprises members and officers from the JMC as well as Portsmouth Water Limited, Rowlands Castle Parish Council, Horndean Parish Council, Forest Enterprise, Hampshire Gardens Trust, and Portsmouth City Council.
The restoration of Staunton has also been supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Staunton has received the Green Flag Award, a scheme which is managed by the Civic Trust and represents the national standard for parks and green spaces. The awards recognise those sites which have been judged to be welcoming, safe and well-maintained with strong involvement of the local community.
