Angling Club Membership
- Annual membership or day tickets can only be issued on production of a valid rod license by the applicant.
- Children aged 12 and over will need to hold a valid junior rod license, those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult holding a rod license.
- All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Rod licenses are available from most post offices from the Thursday closest to 15 March
- All anglers should comply with the 'Rules for Anglers' available from the Visitor Centre at Staunton Country Park.
- Night fishing available to members only, day tickets valid dawn until dusk only

Conduct
- Anglers must have a valid Environment Agency rod Licence and be able to produce it when purchasing tickets or on request of park staff.
- No trees, shrubs or plants to be cut from any angling position. 3)No open fires within the Country Park. Camping stoves acceptable.
- No radios or stereo equipment other than units with ear phones may be used.
- Anglers must be considerate to other Park users, and be responsible for the safe use of equipment.
- No litter or discarded fishing tackle to be left in the Country Park, Please use the bins provided.
Tackle and bait
- Surface baits may be used but the angler is restricted to fishing only 1 rod and this must be in hand whilst baited, not left on rests or unattended.
- Rods and lines must be suitable and appropriate for coarse fishing.
- The use of keep nets or carp sacks is not permitted unless at an approved match.
- All anglers must use a suitable landing net and unhooking mat whilst fishing.
- All seed and nut baits must be properly prepared by soaking and cooking as required.
- Anglers may erect bivvies so long as they do not block access around the lake.
- Baited rods must not be left unattended either in or out of the water at any time, this is a EA bylaw.
Access
- All pathways and tracks must be kept clear at all times to allow access.
- Junior anglers may only fish dawn till dusk unless accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18.
- Children under 12 may fish free with adult members over 18 using one of their rod quota and fishing from the same peg.
- Day tickets must be purchased prior to fishing. Tickets are not available on the bank.
- Night fishing is club members only
- During official matches club members may only fish from the island pegs 1-15 and give way to the match anglers where required. Match dates available via visitor centre. Notices will be posted bank side prior to match days.
- Fishing only from numbered pegs as shown on map.
- Car park open 8:30am-5pm, Members fishing overnight must place their car pass in the windscreen if they wish their cars to be locked in overnight.
- The lake may be closed to anglers to allow for maintenance or repair work as directed by the Park Manager. In event of closure, notices will be posted.
- No responsibility is accepted for loss or damage to personal property, all anglers entering the Country Park do so entirely at their own risk.
Failure to comply with these rules may result in being banned from the park

Fishing positions on the lake.
The lake ranges from 3’ - 8’ deep with a few deeper holes and shallow plateaus. The lake is stocked with Roach, Rudd, Bream, Tench, Perch, Eels, Mirror Carp (up to 38 lb) and Common Carp (up to 34 lb).
