Continuing Professional Development
Hampshire Learning has developed a Continuous Professional Development for Tutors programme of three units, which is intended for Adult and Family Learning Tutors who would like the opportunity to review their current practice and enhance their skills in planning teaching and learning. It also supports Tutors in developing a reflective approach to practice.
It is particularly relevant for Tutors who are new to Hampshire Learning; Tutors who would like to engage in a structured CPD activity; and for those where planning and preparation has been identified as an area for improvement.
Hampshire Learning offers a programme of training courses to support staff development and the Staff Development Calendar
79kb summarises the current courses on offer for 2011/12. The programme is updated continually as the year progresses.
Details of all Hampshire Learning’s staff development courses, and the arrangements for booking places, are advertised on The Learning Zone. Centres with a contract to deliver Hampshire Learning funded or subsidised courses should have nominated a member of their team who has ‘authorisation to book online’ on the Learning Zone pages. Please refer booking requests through your Centre’s nominated person.
New adult and community learning tutors are expected to work towards Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) by undertaking the qualifications that were introduced in September 2007. Hampshire Learning offers internal PTLLS courses to tutors who do not hold a threshold licence to teach in the lifelong learning sector. Tutors who wish to study for the PTLLS qualification externally can apply for funding to support their course costs by completing the Tutor Registration and Funding Form
179kb. Please refer to the Guidance Notes
68kb on completing the Registration and Funding Form prior to submitting to Hampshire Learning
