National Tests and Entry qualifications

Basic Skills are the primary skills needed by adults to get on in life such as reading, writing and number skills. We accredit our Basic Skills programmes through NCFE offering the following Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy qualifications at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2

Entry Level qualifications are assessed via a portfolio of evidence which is internally assessed and moderated, and externally moderated.

Levels 1 and 2 are externally assessed through the National Literacy and National Numeracy tests. The tests can be taken by paper-based or on-line assessments

Qualifications specifications

National Tests at Level 1&2 will be withdrawn from September 2012 and replaced with Functional Skills. We will upload more information as soon it becomes available.
