Safeguarding and Prevent
A whole organisation approach to Safeguarding and Prevent
Hampshire Futures, including all partner adult and family learning providers, must consider how the whole of their organisation can implement safer working practices, environments and policies. A safer learning environment is more than safer recruitment of staff, and it is also more than protecting children and vulnerable adults from harm. These are both vitally important, but should be seen as part of the overall strategy and processes to promote an ethos of well-being, safety and security, which applies to all learners and all staff.
Learning providers have responsibilities to ensure the safety of children and vulnerable adults.
Our Safeguarding Policy 196 kB sets out our commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in Hampshire.
We have produced a range of safeguarding guidance for all staff at centres who come into contact with children and families in their everyday work.
All providers have a duty to safeguard their learners, Prevent is about keeping students safe and within the law. The Prevent Duty is not about preventing students from having political and religious views and concerns but about supporting them to use those concerns or act on them in non-extremist ways.
