  • There’s so much more to Basing House than first appears! Visit our Bushcraft Base to take part in a selection of Bushcraft activities under the expert guidance of Badger Bushcraft and the Basing House Volunteer Team:

    • Foraging and Wild Food – explore the diversity of Basing House’s plant life and learn what can be used to make a nutritious meal
    • Shelter-building – too wet? Too hot? No problem – learn to build a shelter to keep you comfortable whatever the weather!
    • Natural Cordage – how did our ancestors make cord and rope from what can be found growing around us?
    • Observation Trails – develop your spotting skills to see nature in fine detail: animal feeding signs, plant and tree identification and local wildlife
    • Clay Modelling – make mini clay tiles with a wood stamp, or model an animal
    • Natural Collages – turn nature into art! Find and collect natural materials to create collages and models
